NOW is the time. Help SECT business help Haiti. The Haitianreliefweek.org committee in Southeastern CT, in conjunction with local businesses and the Haitian Health Foundation (HHF), has created a way for Southeast CT businesses to come together and raise funds for Haitian Earthquake Relief and is urging SECT businesses and professionals to participate.
This call to action asks the Southeastern CT business community to demonstrate their civic generosity to a nation trying to survive in the most desperate of circumstances. The conditions that Haitians are forced to live in are inhuman at best and less than inhuman after the recent disaster(s).
The HHF is a longstanding organization founded in Norwich in 1982 by Dr. Jeremiah J. Lowney, Jr.. The Haitian Health Foundation is one of the top three Haitian charities in the world and is proud to operate on 92 cents of every dollar donated directly reaching those in need.
A small effort from local businesses will give Haitian earthquake victims the basic needs to survive at this critical time. On behalf of the Haitian Health Foundation, this local effort could provide families with support, food and other immediate needs.
Businesses are urged to help for this critical effort. Ways to help could range from making a donation on behalf of a business, doing a company match for each dollar contributed by each staff member, donating a percentage of profits during Haitian Relief Week, or collecting donations from customers. All collected donations/monies go directly to the Haitian Health Foundation.
Interested businesses can register and get more information online at www.haitianreliefweek.org. All efforts will be acknowledged on the site, including participating company logos and links. This website will also be heavily promoted to the public to encourage the support of our Haitian Relief Week Business Partners. Upon registering, participating businesses will also be provided with promotional materials to show the community their support.
